Production

Production Before Delivery

House of Vere garments are made to order, woven exclusively for the brand, and require multiple stages of production before dispatch. Delivery times begin after your garment has been completed.

Your order may include the following stages:

Tartan weaving (up to 6 months)
Finishing at the mill
Cut, Make & Trim (CMT) by specialist Scottish tailors
Final inspection, pressing and packing

These production times vary depending on mill capacity, seasonal demand, and tailoring workload.

Tailoring times

Estimated Production & Delivery Timelines

Tartan Garments (Kilts, Skirts, Waistcoats, Trews, Ponchos, Serapes, Shawls):

Weaving time: up to 6 months
Tailoring/CMT: 4–8 weeks
Dispatch: 3–7 working days

Tartan Accessories (Ties, Bow Ties, Pocket Squares, Scarves):

Usually dispatched within 4–6 weeks, depending on cut availability and tailor queue.

Canvas & Leather Bags:

Typically dispatched within 2–3 weeks, unless stated otherwise.

International Orders

Sent via a tracked international courier service
Delivery aim: 5–15 working days depending on country
Customs delays are possible and outside our control

Shipping and handling Cost

Shipping Costs

Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on:

item weight
destination
packaging
tracking/insurance requirements

Shipping is VAT-chargeable under UK law.

Partial Shipments

If an order contains both ready-made accessories and made-to-order garments:

Items may be shipped separately,
At no extra cost to you,
To ensure you receive available products without waiting for the full garment production.

Customs, Duties & Local Taxes

International customers are responsible for:

any customs charges
import duties
local taxes

These are set by your country’s customs authority and cannot be pre-calculated by House of Vere.

Delivery

Missed Deliveries & Incorrect Addresses

Customers are responsible for providing correct delivery information.
Re-delivery fees caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses may be charged.

Once an item has been dispatched and tracking details issued, House of Vere is not responsible for lost packages caused by:

incorrect delivery details
failure to collect from a sorting office
refusal of customs charges
courier delays outside our control

Tracking

All orders are shipped fully tracked.
Tracking information is emailed automatically once your item is dispatched.

Pre-Order Items

Any garment requiring weaving will be clearly marked as a pre-order item.

By placing a pre-order, you accept:

the weave time
the tailoring time
the dispatch timeframe

As part of the purchase agreement.

By purchasing from House of Vere, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions, including the made-to-order nature of our garments, production times, verification requirements, and the limitations set out under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

House of Vere is managed by a Level 5 qualified legal undergraduate, ensuring that all policies and procedures are written with clarity, transparency, and compliance in mind. This protects both you as the consumer and the business as the supplier.

If you are unsure about any part of these Terms & Conditions, we strongly recommend contacting us directly before placing an order. Once an order is placed and production has begun, you enter into a binding contract for a bespoke item that is exempt from cancellation or change
